Battery lasts less than a month

Hello! The batteries for my Hello Kitty 2024 nano seem to run out very quickly? From what I've read, they're supposed to last 3 months at least, but I first needed to replace mine after 23 days, and the replacement batteries only lasted 17 days. I've had sound on the entire time, and I accidentally hit the reset button a few days after initially replacing the batteries, if that matters. Is the tamagotchi somehow defective?

Update: the tamagotchi grew up while in the low battery state (when it gets dirty and trying to clean it up displays the low battery symbol) and seems to be fine now? Was not aware this could happen
