Whoops, looks like I've been MIA here for a few days... @_@ Just means some catching up to do, yeah?
Everyone's grown up a bit more.
Claire became a Ponytchi. Tomorrow she should be old enough for the matchmaker to come, for which I'm excited, but that's dependent upon it not caring that the years counter is having some issues with... not actually counting, thanks to my method of "pausing" it by changing the system clock all the time.
Rosalia became a Mametchi. Um... not to sound like a horrible parent, but for the sake of variety, I wish I knew how to get something other than Mametchi/Mimitchi every generation... I mean, according to the chart I found there's more than just those two for excellent care, but for some reason that's all I get. --Backing up that story so as not to sound totally weird considering she's on Gen 1, I'm talking in part about back in '06. It was always a Mametchi or Mimitchi. I guess I really like the personality systems for giving more variety even with the exact same levels of care; I know I'd get different characters if I neglected them a little, but I just can't bring myself to intentionally neglect them.
I caved yesterday and had Maria go to the Dating Place. I'm not sure who she married, because honestly the background makes it really hard for me to see what else is going on, on the screen. Anyway, I was really shocked and disappointed because... well, on the Tamagotchi Connections, the parent would stay until that night or the next night or something. Maria left maybe an hour, no more than three hours I'm pretty sure, after the baby was born! I wasn't ready to say goodbye yet! Then again, neither was the baby, so I suppose we bonded over that a little............
Anyways, Maria had a son. I decided to throw the intragenerational theme naming out the window, since it really, really only worked if she had had a daughter. So I named him Gabe. c: He's currently a Cosmotchi. I think I'm gonna have him be interested in robots. Which I know sounds kind of strange since I was just commenting about not wanting anymore Mametchi on my V3, but that's different: I'm deciding it in this instance, and it's based on the character named Gabe who he's named after. (Oops, I think I forgot to mention actually, but my theme naming for all my current Tama is naming them after characters from a particular game I really love.)
Last night there was an incident, actually, that makes me really surprised Rosalia became a Mametchi this morning. I feel horrible about this: I fell asleep on accident; Claire nearly died, and Rosalia wasn't doing so great either. Thankfully Gabe, a Mitsumarutchi at the time, had actually gone to bed shortly before that happened. I woke up to Rosalia calling for my attention as she had just gone to bed and needed the lights turned out. Rose, who has always been the lower maintenance of the two, was only missing a couple hearts for hunger and happiness, though she also had a poop next to her that hadn't been cleaned. She wasn't sick though. Claire, on the other hand... sick, a poop, and completely empty hearts for both hunger and happiness. Thank goodness I woke up when I did. I took care of her needs and then Rosalia's (after changing the clock to wake her up), and both ended up being okay.
In other news, I'm not going to be reactivating another V3/V4 as it turns out. I finally managed to get my hands on a Pokewalker (the pedometer accessory for Pokemon SoulSilver) today, which is in perfect condition, except for the fact that the battery was dead. But it also runs off the CR-2032 batteries, so I used that fourth battery for my Pokewalker. I named my starter Pokemon after Maria as well, which somehow brings her sudden leaving full-circle in some way.
Anyway, assuming it does happen, I'm really excited for Claire to see the matchmaker. I mean, I love her, but I don't have the same struggle letting her go as I did with Maria. Nope, that was exclusive to Maria. Of course, what I'm really excited for isn't the matchmaker herself but rather Claire having a baby~! I think I'll name it either RONI (girl) or Hanzou (boy), but that's definitely subject to change.
