And as this one uses nfc, I don't think it's ir compatible.

Allthough it could be used with modern smartphones, that would be nice.

Unfortunately most modern smartphones use bluetooth, not NFC .

Anyway, I don't think it will ever connect with a TamaGo or Music Star hence they don't have the NFC technology and the TMGC Friends don't have the IRDA function. In my opinion, I think its gonna be a P's clone for some reason but I might not be right. The choice of designs for the shells is also kind of bad because there's 3 ID L designs which I find uncreative but that's just my point of view and Bandai can do whatever they want, and I'm happy that they're still making a new Tamagotchi, but I never expected Bandai UK to come back with a brand new Tamagotchi and website

Remember that it says that this Tamagotchi is made for kids who have never seen a Tamagotchi before.

In that case, children wouldn't care about some of the shells looking like an iD L because they wouldn't know what an iD L is.

I also feel that it will probably be a lot like the Tama-Go (not that I mind) because the target audience might not have had a Tama-Go, either.

Furthermore, the black and white screen may be more suited to the target audience; kids may want to save up to buy it with their own money but if it was in color it would cost too much. A color screen Tamagotchi may be easily damaged by young children so yeah, I get why they kept it in black and white.

By the looks of the poorly done photo shop they plastered on locations and the start picture from the tama-go

I hope they make new locations and designs instead of putting in the old ones I'd be really disappointed if it was just like the tamago but with only new characters and connections

Also it is confirmed this tamagotchi will be released in Spain as I have found a site that sells them and ships worldwide too

Hm, interesting. I wonder if the US will see these, but I highly doubt it. If not, I might have to ask someone to buy and send me these or something, pending they are any good. Not too thrilled that they reused the ID L look, though. I'd get them mixed up with my other ones if if wasn't for the logo at the top, then.

Somemehow (I don't know how) one seller on our ebay-like site already has (or had) 3 Tamagotchi Friends of each color for sale yesterday. I immediately bought a white one with colorful pantera-like spots on it. The seller sent me also the photos of them in packagings:

So exciting! It appears to be like a Tama-Go with more built-in content, different characters, and more games. ;3 Sounds fun! Judging from the image, one of the games is mimic from the Version 4... I wonder if all the games are from previous versions?

I see Kiramotchi and Jurietchi - guess all the characters on this version are from the P's =D

And the iD L shells actually look darker than normal iD Ls; the pink-looking one really is red! >w<

Agreed one of the things I missed most about older tamagotchi versions was the shop that would sell random items I remmember as a kid checking my v4 after school or at many times of the day to see what new and rare items are Instock

I should hope so. It's certainly a feature that I often take for granted.

I now get it why we got them earlier. The 26th December is a date of release in UK, but Bandai has 5 branches in Europe. Including Poland and Spain (where they already are available). So other countries could have released them earlier.
