I was just wondering if yall agreed with 'fixing' pets.

Spay or neatuering (sorry for the awful spelling!) is when you take reporductive organs out of an animal.

I personaly am for people getting their pets fixed.

If some how the pet gets loose, well you don't have to worry about it coming back pregnant and for cats, it saves you from a bunch of male till death fights. x.x

Plus it keeps the unwanted pet levels down.

What do you think?

My cats are fixed. Although I think it hurts them but it also stops cats for having babies and creating more helpless kittens that will be put to sleep because no one wants them. :) :)

I am for fixing domesticated animals.

They do it humanley, and they are help keeping the unwanted pet level down, which means less pain for helpless puppies.

i think it is fine. It is usually painless and it helps you and your animal! :)

You should 'fix' your pets! That way you can help prevent homeless animals! You should 'fix' them especially if they are outdoor animals.

I am for animals getting fixed. That way innocent animals will not be killed/abandoned by the people who do not wish to bother to find homes for the babies.

I agree. If you're a licenced breeder, fine. You got the space for them, you got the know-how and you get profit for breeding. This is okay.

It's the people who have pets already, theirs gets pregnant and then dumps the kittens or puppies or whatever as a humane society expecting them to live.

While most do at a humane society...after working there for volunteer hours years ago, I found out if a humane society is overrun with too many animals and doesn't have room, they do begin to put the healthy ones as well as sick to sleep. It wasn't easy witnessing those times.

So if you only got room for 3 pets, 4 pets, 5...whatever...please spay and neuter your pets. You don't want to be stuck with having to take them somewhere. If you got the room in your home, the resources, then yeah go ahead...but otherwise spay and neuter.

Unless your a dedicated breeder, you should fix your pet. It helps keep stray animals off the streets.

I'm for it. My mom was so against neutering one of our dogs x.x It was so annoying. I kept telling her that it was gross to have to see his happy flop around when you walked behind him >.< She finally got sick of seeing it and got him fixed.

Her excuse not to at first was, 'But he's a boy, so we don't have to worry about puppies!'

She had no problem getting our other dog spayed though.

I am for it. It only hurts for a day or so. It helps to control temperament, and like *Summer* said, many people throw out their animals because they can't control them, when really all it would involve would be to castrate/de-sex the animal.

'fixing' pets stops them marking their territory. And, as you said, keeps unwanted pet levels down. I am 50/50 with 'fixing' 'coz KITTENS ARE CUTE!!!

You're not supposed to do it to kittens o.o' They have to be a set number of months old to be able to fix.

We got one of our cats fixed too young and part of her stomach sags now x.x

Well, as much as I think it is more for the humans own good than the pets and we are just unwilling to admit that, I am for it. You could simply get the pet's fallopian tubes/sperm ducts tied instead of interrupting their sex lives which leads me to believe humans do it so they can make their pets more like living toys.

I for one am for fixing animals. If animals don't get fixed they could have unwanted babies :) . All of my pets are fixed. If you disagree with me say it in a nice way :ichigotchi: , no need to start a flame war.

'Fixing' your pets is an over-all important thing to do, especially if they are outdoor pets. :ichigotchi: 'Fixing' your pets keeps unwanted and stray animals off the street. If you can't care for a litter of pups, you should spay or neauter your dog or cat.

I'm all for it, because it prevents things like over-populating breeds. And that results in having some animals, as some say, 'Put Down'. In all, I think spaying or neautering your pet is perfectly fine, and helps your pet not to over-produce their breed and keep unwanted animals off the streets. :)
