Is she known for using virtual pets or something?

I think worshiping celebrities who don’t know you exist is unhealthy and in this case a bit creepy.

Develop a genuine personality and connection with real people rather than making it all about a famous person.

Like, you love Billie Eilish. Great, why do you need us to know that? What am I supposed to do with that information? What happens if I don’t care or am indifferent to her?

Does that define you and your entire personality? If so, that’s worrying.

I think you need a hobby, a job and to go see your friends.

its really not that deep, they just wanted to bond over enjoying an artist. theres no need to be rude

well, I love several music artists too. I also know many people who love music artists as well, and that's kind of rude to say that stuff. this was a totally innocent thing and it's 100% normal for people to love certain artist's music.

I stand by every word. It’s creepy and unhealthy.

Nothing I said was designed to hurt you, I just find it odd that you’re doing it here. Stop seeing an attack and read the words in context.

There are many people in the world I admire, some of them artists like BE, but it wouldn’t even cross my mind to post this in a totally unrelated community.

It is weird to base your whole personality around a celebrity. Or to worship them to an extreme level.

I’m not being rude to you when I say this, I’m simply suggesting you reflect on your fandom and be honest with yourself about how healthy and mature this behaviour is.

I’ve been fortunate enough to study psychology to quite a high-level in my career and education, so I’m telling you this, rather abruptly, but honestly. Obsessive behaviour about celebrities can be harmful. And yes, it may be “that deep”.

If you read this and still feel like I’m being mean then it’s on you. Most well-adjusted adults would find this odd. I’m sorry if that rains on the parade.

Love her music by all means, be a big fan, bond with others over it online, just don’t make her your entire personality. Have your own.

this person is loving her music, being a big fan, and bonding with others online about it, just like you said. nobody said that they are making it their entire personality. all they said is to comment if you love Billie eilish like they do, they didn't say anything creepy or weird, they were just excited. and to say that's unhealthy is weird because what kind of evidence do you have to support your statement? and i've seen other posts on here totally unrelated to tamagotchi's, but I don't care and most other people don't care. but we can agree to disagree, and I respect your opinion. 😗 anyways have a nice day pookie

I feel like you’re deliberately misunderstanding my points - which were made very clearly.

I’ll say it again. There’s nothing wrong with appreciating a celebrity, loving thier music and bonding with people online about it. That’s perfectly normal.

It’s fine to be a fan. It’s not okay to be an obsessive fan or a “Stan”. The OP used the word obsessed, and posting here, even in off topic is a bit of a Stan red flag.

I have no idea if OP really is genuinely obsessed to the point of it being unhealthy, but in case they are, my comments were designed to help them ask that of themselves and maybe correct thier course.

If not, then no harm done. But I personally find such behaviour odd, and it reminds me of other times people took loving a celebrity too far.

And if you don’t think we have a problem with Stan culture right now, in general, I’ll happily forward you some examples I found particularly harrowing.

Also, I’d argue it’s you being rude at this point. I’m just rather bluntly formulating my arguments.
