Hi,

my name is Alex, I live in Uzbekistan I recently purchased Tamagotchi v4 for my doughter (9 yrs) and had to dive into this crazy ocean of Tamagotchi information. First, I started reading Russian language forums but obvioously they are not so informative so I switched to this one. I know there should be thousands of posts like this of mine, but anyway let me put it again: is there any TAMAPEDIA, ABC, guide or smth of that kind as a manual in one place (or one book, document, etc) for a general-level brain human to start understanding of what to do with this nasty toy. I am really tired of collecting the information by pieces from different sources or different topics in this particluar forum (like this one, though very helpful, indeed), but again and again I find more and more small details or "behaviour patterns" in the posts of the forum members here. Maybe some devoted tama user could have already written that kind of manual with step-by-step explanations? Please help!

P.S. there is no local society of tama lovers, the original tama is not sold in Uzb. Sometimes fake tama ver.0 could be found in the markets. Nobody is importing this toy costing around USD 50 for the country with average monthly income level of USD 300. Fake tamas costing around USD5. Yet, very few speak English here. My tama was brought from UAE.

The Tamagotchi is basically a virtual pet. You can feed it and stuff, and select the various options to care for it in different ways.

I have been working on one myself. A V4 guide, that is. Dunno if I'll finish, but I might be more inclined to do so if someone needs it.

Until I finish, feel free to ask me questions. I had the same sorts of questions you did, and I didn't stop until I had answered every question I wanted an answer for. (I spent way too much time with the V4...)

Thanks for your replies and useful links, which I used to collect all info into one document. So far it is 12 pages long. However, I still find a lot of separate posts with very useful strategy information, like "do not forget to criticise your tama in case it made a bad gift to other tama, otherwise...." or "the behavioral strategy towards becoming a fashion designer is...." and so on.

Box, regarding your willinglness to convert your thoughts into words - sounds really great. Ofcourse I should say that people need it (and it is really so), but honestly speaking, after looking around in tama field last days, I feel that interest towards tama is going down - forums are sluggish, official tama servers down, etc. so maybe ('cause I am not sure), your effort is a little late and you might also not get the desired feedback. I hope I am wrong, though.
