advertisement, why?

Why isnt site advertising alowed? this ticks me off. you admin's dont want any site taking the starlight off of yours and dont act like thats not why. ive observed alot of different forums, not only tamagotchi t non tamagotchi too. i became very experianced with forums,and i came to my sences about what a forum is really about. doing what ever you want to talk about, and restrictions about anything thats probably not gona do any damage is just annoying. you guys will always be #1 site, so at least let other ppl advertise there sites! and tamatalk users who agree with me please post here. and i want a reason! [SIZE=14pt]i want to know why we cant advertise[/SIZE]! i know its your rules, but at least give us an explanation thats fair enough, and thats all i wanted to say for a while. but wait, i might be wrong you know. CAN you advertise tamagotchi sites? i get confusd with thte rules....

yes but you can edit size and color texts in your siggy,The no site advertising is quite possibly a way to keep younger TT users from getting onto weird, more adult sites. and TT is very lenient with siggys so feel free to make a banner/button and advertise away! because it's kinda like a commercal,you cant choose whether or not to look at it,its THERE. If an advertisement thread was here, we could avoid it alltogether.then no one would see your site.but you can always PM an admin or someone asknig if you can affiliate with TT. Kinda like TamaZone.

You can advertise in your siggy, but advertising your site by creating topics might lead to a little spam.

ok yes, but how can younger TT users get on more adult sites or more older sites if u can only advertise at a PG-13 level? and you only have certain things you can advertise, so if its on that section it shouldnt be anything some younger TT users would wind up on.

Go to tamatopsites or Linkjudge. Simple. advertising just isn't allowed in tamatalk though, it causes arguements like clubs.

Basically, we don't advertisements everywhere because its off-putting.

When you go to a website, and you are bombarded with adverts, 9 out of 10 users will be put off and not want to come back. We're not trying to be annoying or rude. We simply do not want the whole site clogged up with adverts to other websites. What would you prefer? A forum filled with good, informative posts, or a forum filled with adverts and no real content?

You can advertise in the appropriate profile fields and inside of your signature. And advertising in your signature is like advertising in posts anyway, since it appears under all of your posts.

Another reason is SPAM. SPAM puts people off too. And also, you can use Tamagotchi Top Sites.

It's Better to put it in your siggy!!

And one Final Thing It makes people just want to leave because they get Bombarded with messages saying *come to this site or you will die* And stuff like that!

The topic pinned at the topic of this forum (No Personal Website Advertisements) explains in the very first paragraph why Personal Ads & Link are banned - it's a pretty simple explanation and there's no "hidden agenda".

We took the decision to ban topics with links to personal web sites after a lot of discussion (and a lot of complaints from members about the annoying spam and the huge number of topics for other sites).

We know ppl want to advertise their sites so that's also why we included the option for ppl to advertise their site link in their signature message (only).

People visit TamaTalk because they like it and they find useful info and interesting / fun topics.

The number of visitors and votes for TamaTalk in Tamagotchi TopSites keep it popular... there's no need for Admin to "protect" TamaTalk's popularity - it's up to members to keep visiting and keep posting if they want.

The Admins and the staff on TamaTalk work pretty hard to keep the site a friendly, fun place to visit...
