A question about old tamagotchi's

Hey all! I recently got a Tamagotchi Mini as my second Tamagotchi and I am a little underwhelmed by the lack of growth stages/evolutions. As a hobby I like to hack/modify things. Is there a way to do that with the mini (or any tamagotchi for that matter) as I'd like to add new tama's to the device.
