Sorry, you can't. Just don't pause your Tamagotchi. When you would normally pause, change the time so that it goes to sleep. That way, it still ages at a normal rate but you don't have to look after it when it's asleep.

I've had a couple: the only ones I remember now are the name-changing glitch on the v4 and the ball glitch on the v4 (though I kinda triggered the ball glitch manually to see if one of the rumours I'd heard about it were true).

If you have a regular v5, you cannot get the Royal Family. If you have a v5.5, you have to get a certain character and mate it to a certain other character when your bonding is at 100%. Sorry, I don't remember what the combinations are.

I'm pretty sure that happens if the teen Tamagotchi is on an older version (v1-v3) and the adult is a v4 or a v4.5. I'm not 100% certain, maybe it's the other way around. The v4 and v4.5 evolve into adults sooner than the v1-v3, so I'm guessing that it "assumes" that the other versions do too...
