I know this is a very late reply, but I figure if you were still interested I might as well tell you what I know. Just earlier today I fixed up my V3 tamagotchi that I've had for years now. I'm not sure exactly how you'd fix the LCD screen, but for the IR port and sound wire, it should be easy...
