Help identifying a Japanese Connection V1 shell

I recommend an old site called Bladesplace for a comprehensive guide to Tamagotchi V1 - V4 shells. Your design can be found there, and it is indeed a Tamagotchi Plus (Japanese V1): https://www.bladesplace.id.au/bladeagotchi/tamplus-colours.html The site is missing some designs that are...

    Version 1: 1997 vs 2004 models?

There is nothing a brand new V1 can offer over a used V1, except maybe the instructions manual which can be found online and printed. Some Tamagotchis including the V1 are becoming harder and harder to find new in box, and I would encourage you to try find a second hand one or you will be paying...

    Version 1: 1997 vs 2004 models?

Packaging of both the Connection era and Vintage era Tamagotchis varies considerably. The key thing to look for is the infrared port up top the toy, and if you are looking for a brand new V1 (hard to find), a package that says "Connection" on it.

What time does the matchmaker come when you are 6 in v4.5

If you use the search function here on Tamatalk, a number of topics regarding the V4.5 matchmaker times will appear. This is a good one: https://www.tamatalk.com/IB/topic/135791-v45-matchmaker-time/

    Version 1: 1997 vs 2004 models?

That orange tamagotchi is a Version 1 Connection from 2004. Connections have a red infrared port across the top of the toy, a keyring on the right hand side of the toy (vs. centre on the vintage tamagotchis, like the purple one you have pictured) and are more circular than the vintages...

    CBLS' Log

Random update! I couldn't wait until morning... I installed Mr. Blinky's and Myiko's Halloween virtual deco pierce. I'll have to wait until next generation to obtain Kabodebitchi, but wow, this is just amazing. :ichigotchi:

    New Tamagotchi VDP's

Mind blown. This is phenomenal work, guys. My head is spinning thinking about all the possibilities. Trying this out ASAP! Just amazing. Great work

    CBLS' Log

Kabutotchi is now 7 years old, with 35.7mm long horns. I have no idea what sort of lengths it's supposed to go to... His special food is a melon. There is also a candy, eating one of which fills all happy and hunger hearts. I don't recall the candy being there on other morino adults...

The speckled egg hatched straight into Imotchi. Should enter its cocoon soon.

    CBLS' Log

I've been bitten by the Morino bug. Pun intended. Augh, just terrible. I chose the speckled egg so I could raise Kabutotchi. I'm not sure if I've raised this character before... maybe a few years ago... Still running my 15th anniversary. I'd really like to complete all the characters...

Unsure on what version I have?

It's genuine, and is a Tamagotchi Connection Version 4 (these are in the English language and have a ball antenna). Off the top of my head, yours looks like an Asia Pacific design, sold in parts of Asia as well as Australia & NZ. Here's a link to the Tamagotchi Wikia if you want some more...

Games that you plan on getting/want?

Yeah it's pretty sad. Split screen was a big part of the franchise. urgh

    Favorite Tamagotchi Generation? (Poll!)

I voted V2, iDL (I mean the 15th anniversary iDL), and other. V2 out of nostalgia, 15th anniversary out of awesomeness, and other for the Devilgotchi, Morino, Mothra, etc... pretty much all the vintages are up in my favourites! Also other for the Uratama. What's your favourite gen? ^_^

    Male Tamagotchis vs Female Tamagotchis

I'm not sure I'm really equipped to answer this question, but based on the iDL & P's, I think both male and female characters have nice designs. I personally prefer male character designs, as some of the newer females look quite similar being pink and/or frilly looking. I like the simplicity...

    Uratama or V4.5

Oh no  I haven't tried to debug the 4.5 because of permanent hyperspeed until it's debugged... but I do remember trying to debug a V3 when I was young, stripping all the inner screws in the process, only to realise it was an Asia Pacific V3 so didn't even have the debug circle to...

    Tamagotchis Aren't So Hot Anymore

While I hope for a comeback, in an age that is so positively saturated with technology, I can understand why a beeping, pixelated pet isn't an enticing concept to most children. A (fake) Tamagotchi was the only electronic thing I owned as a kid, and my interest in collecting Tamagotchis today...

    Uratama or V4.5

Both the V4.5 and Uratama are great versions - similar characters, but otherwise remarkably different in gameplay. As EMF has said, the V4.5 has more games and is more interactive in terms of school, jobs, and the shop. On the flip side, the Uratama has cool items, secret characters, cooking...
