Hi guys!
I have been doing some experimenting with obtaining the different characters through the different types of care. The type that I was going for on my current generation (I'm on my 3rd) of my two Tamagotchis was Gourmet (for my girl in my pink polka dot egg) and Social (for my boy in my blue BFF egg).
To obtain a social character is pretty simple (you just send or recieve 10 text messages during the teenage stage), but from what I've read so far, there has been a bit of confusion (mostly on my end) on how to obtain a gourmet character based on feeding them meals or snacks and whether or not they had to be store bought. I tested to see if snacks had any effect at all, because I've read that meals are the determining factor, but there was no mention of whether snacks were as well.
So, I set up a little chart on a sheet of paper as soon as they transitioned from child to teen to differenciate between my two Tamagotchi Friends.
And here is my little chart/list/whatever (it's a pretty simple chart thing):
From what I've read so far on the forums, once you set their personality, it cannot be changed. So what I did was I fed the Tamagotchi that I wanted to become Gourmet 22 store bought snacks at once (yes, 22! ), then 2 store bought meals, and tallied them on my sheet of paper after each time. After I went on a binge and fed her all of those meals and snacks, I sent 10 messages between her and my boy character that I wanted to be Social. From then on I fed the one I wanted to be Gourmet breads and milks for the rest of the teenage stage.
By doing this, my thought process was that if the snacks did not have any factor in whether she would be Gourmet or not, after connecting 10 times with my blue egg, she would have turned into a Social character.
So today was the day that my teens transitioned to their adult stage, and the day I would find out whether or not the store-bought snacks had any effect on my girl Tamagotchi.
Sure enough, at 6pm, she evolved into a Gourmet character (Pianitchi). And here she is:
tl;dr?: In conclusion, store bought snacks have a lot to do with whether or not your character will become a Gourmet character... so try to feed your character as many store bought snacks as possible!
