For calligraphy, I use the uncial font mostly. However, if the situation calls for it I use the roman italic script. I want to learn the gothic font. It's easy and pretty consistent, but I want to learn it the RIGHT way. There are summer classes for calligraphy, and I'm taking a refreshment course this month. -nods- I also like fonts that use illuminated lettering and celtic syle things, I love the knots. They're very eye pleasing. I wanted to buy a book on celtic knots but my parents wouldnt let me D:
As for fonts on the computer, I hate them. Calligraphers are hugely unappreciated now because of computer fonts (and I think most of them are artifical and ugly anyways), and their art is so BEAUTIFUL! Unless you're in the trade or looking to actually buy something like a wedding invitation, you won't know hardly anything about them. It's so sad :'( Besides, learning calligraphy takes a lot of disipline and that's a good skill to have. And all this stuff with the colors! It shouldn't be an effort to read someone's typing. (I believe the same with eye burning CSS.) Using fonts on boards just draws negative attention to them in my oppinion.
And as for webdings, I don't like them ethier. What's so cool about them? They're so visually displeasing.
