Won’t let me feed my tamagotchi

So… I looked at my Tamagotchi‘s profile and it said it was hungry like, starving hungry. So I went to go feed it and press the button but when I press the button it’s making the same noise it does when my Tamagotchi is sleeping and I press a button.(I know it means you aren’t able to press that button, but why?) like, I wanna feed my Tamagotchi. It doesn’t even get me a chance to press “fridge” or “restaurant”, The noise happens when I press the “food” button. Can anyone tell me why?
