They're a older version of Tamagotchi's, the humm, Ancestors as Tamatalk puts it.

on top of that; it can be hard to find a working one, in the package and all of that jazz.

I don't think DevilGotchi caught on as fast as the Angelgotchi did (and that was even limited!) - By the time they released them here (in canada at least), the craze had died out quite a bit.

You always have to pay a bit more for a "collectors" item. :X

Just watch Ebay and the Tbay on Tamatalk, you might just find one in your price range! :kusatchi:

Yeah, it's the simple law of supply and demand, then you have to factor in who is buying these things. Adults and young adults who can afford bidding battles for them.

Once in a while, you'll find one on ebay for $80ish which is a very good price.

I've been collecting since 1998. But decided I really wanted in 1999. It took a couple of years to get my first one. Well actually I didn't pay for my first two. :ichigotchi:

but I've been watching the prices on ebay for years and years. The prices rarely change. Without a package, you are usually looking at $60- $80. Then with the package, usually $100 or more. It's just the way it is for some things.
