well the title says it all! i think it would! If we were all blind we would see people for who they are, not how thet look B) we would never jude abook by its cover, we would save alot of money on clouths and furniture cuz we dont care what people think of it we would just buy the cheep stuff :D and we would spend more time working on who we are as a person and not how cool we look

most people think of being blind as a disadvantage but if u really think about it...we would probubly be better off like that

No. Give up your eyes if you want, I'm keeping mine. Go walk around with a blindfold, that works too. I, on the other hand, won't.

It's easy to SAY such things, but are you blind? No. I don't think so. Blind people are human too, and that means a blind person is simply as corrupt as a normal person. We would find other ways to judge people, and probably worse ways than appearance. We could still judge people on how much money they have, how high they are in society, etc. Do you think that shutting yourself away from the facts of life is going to change anything?

And honestly, appearance may not be everything, but whats on the inside is not everything ethier. I'm sick and tired of people who think that if they say things like this it will apply to life. It doesn't.

Being blind is a disadvantage. I've really thought about it. It's a handicap because of the definition of disadvantage- you couldn't be able to do things other people could.

And you would give up all the beauty in the world that you're lucky to feast upon simply because you think we would be "better off" when we wouldn't be.. I don't know what to say to that. I guess I'm lucky that I know what I have and I wouldn't give it up.

If I couldn't see tomorrow, I'd kill myself. I couldn't draw anymore. I wouldn't be able to appreciate art... Well, there goes my life. I'd much rather be dead than try to grasp at what I once had.

We would fall off cliffs, we wouldn't be able to make things like computers, our entire society would be destroyed, we would get eaten, we would die. We wouldn't be able to make (or use) money or make clothing, so that wouldn't really matter much anyways. And besides, we wouldn't be developing who we are as a person, we would be trying to figure out how to do simple tasks.

If a few people are blind, then it's fine. Other people are able to make things for them so they can live their life as full as we can live ours. But if everyone was blind, we couldn't do that.

Anyways, we would just find another way to discriminate, if that's your entire objective. How our voices sound, how our hands feel, etc.

Yes, I think that world would be much better and easier, wouldn't it? (No, it wouldn't.)

Not at all. pyonchit and fluffums explained most of it.

And how would we get around without cars? I really don't wanna walk 9 miles to school and risk being killed or something T_T

And everything, everything would be braille(Spelling). Thats bad too D:

i mean if every one was born blind... we would adapt to a diffrent life style that I believe would be better and if u dont, its ok the idea just poped into my head, and to the first peson who replyed .. even when things seem to turn out bad... u should NEVER kill urself even if u dont want to live :) (its not worth it trust me!)

I don't think so. Explain how everything will be done - sure a new lifestyle etc etc but you would never actually have a clue where you where going? Some people are blind and they cope very well but they have help from guide dogs and people so life is easier. If nobody could see then it would be pretty hard to do/know anything.

Just think of how lucky you are to have eye-sight because I think blind people would love to see a loved ones face just one more time. I'd imagine being blind could be scary at times because of the noises and not knowing what they are. I think you want blindness so people wouldn't be judged by appearance and that's fair enough but you have to be happy with yourself and not care what others think.

I would say it has a good side and a bad side...

good side it: people would not make fun of other ppl for being "ugly"

bad side:we would never know were we were! that would be kinda scary...

Blind people need seeing people to help them get along in life. There would be no seeing eye dogs (who would train them?), no braille (who would make it?) and none of the stuff we have that we need.

It wouldn't be all that great if we were all blind. For one, we couldn't go anywhere. Where would we live? People can't build (good) houses if they're blind.

The one good thing would be that everyone would be somewhat equal, since we can't see what the other person looks like.

i think if we were all blind that would b kinda scary!!!!!!!!!!!!! like realy! think of it!!!! no 1 can see what there doing, going,EATING(lol), DRINKING(again lol!) and u know other stuff but ya!

..No.

It's a possibility that people would care less about looks if we were all blind, but still, a disability like that doesn't take away their opinions..

There COULD be an advantage, but we couldn't really know for sure. And even so, what about the disadvantages that would come with it..

No- obviously we were made to have eyes from both an evolutionistic and creationistic [istic? xP] viewpoints. I do not believe in evolution, but if you do, well then we 'evolved' to have eyes. From a creation standpoint we were made to have eyes.

Like Pyonchit said we'd find some other way to judger ourselves. It's always bigger or better and human nature because of insucurities is to make fun other the ones who aren't exactly like us. Who knows- maybe we'd judge on how high our vioce was?

I think we are ment to have eyes.

Absolutely not. You try walking around with a blindfold. You can see absolutely nothing, and you don't know where you're going. You still want to be blind?

Humans are very visual creatures, we'd have to totally evolve our instincts, etc., in order to survive without vision (it must be hard for blind individuals, but at the same time they get used to it to an extent, I'm sure... It'd still be hard to overcome instinct).

Think of it with animals... Most females pick out larger males for protection, etc.

The more colourful peacock gets the female... The lizard that puffs up bigger gets the female...

When it comes to friends, most people are smart enough that looks don't matter, but when it comes to picking a "mate," appearance does play a part, there are certain things people look for. There has to be some physical attraction.

I don't think so. When I'm older I'd want to see my children grow up. Myself grow up. I'd like to be able to use a computer properly. I mean if I was blind I guess I'd be looking at the positive side. Like You'd be able to hear. You'd maybe even be able to imagine new colours. But I'd really want to be able to see.

Also if we couldn't see what would happen if a tiger escaped from a zoo (if there were any) and it came to your house or you crossed it's path? What would you do then? So really eyesight is our way of life. Oh yeh I'm not saying your wrong!

Yes. Then no one could care about looks. There would be no first impressions. No looks at all.

All people would see is whats inside and thats all that matters no matter if anyoness blind or not
