A bunch of my friends went to the midnight premiere && said it was great. But I've never read the book or anything so personally, I'm pretty indifferent towards it.

I'm leaving to go see it literally in like, ten minutes.

I'm pretty excited. I looooved the book when I was younger, though I haven't read it in years.

I'll let you guys know how it is :)

EDIT: Okay, I saw it.

The movie was soooo good. The plot was pretty flat, but whoever directed it was AMAZING.

And the kid actor was really, really good :)

The director was Spike Jonze. :)

The movie was amazing. <3

The movie was absolutely i n c r e d i b l e. :)

Like Katie said, I was quite surprised with the kid's acting capabilities.

Mum kept complaining to me about how 'unsteady' the filming was.

Honestly I think that if the camera was kept still, the effect would be different.

May I add though, I cried like crazy at the end.

Like crazy.

When I watched the previews I didn't think it would be suitable for my 2 year cousin to watch, but I had no idea that it wouldn't be suitable for my other cousins either!

The synopsis doesn't give an acturate discription of the film. I spent the entire movie trying to figure out why any child (especially one who seems to be somewhere between 7 and 11) would think it was exceptable to get into a boat, after dark, alone, in the winter, and go out into what appears to be the ocean.

For anyone watching this movie it seems like the boy takes off in the night to go stay with monsters for an extended period of time, and when he returns home his mother who is obviously upset (but not upset enough to phone the police) is waiting to give him cake.

I am extremely annoyed with the fact that we wasted our time and money on something so confusing for my cousins. Now I get the pleasure of explaining why if he takes off in the middle of the night....

I saw it and it was adorable. I loved it.

Laura and I looked at each other and we both were on the verge of crying and we both try to act tough and the random lonely 20 year old sitting beside us laughed at us but was crying himself.

I think it was an amazing movie and took me back to being in my childhood.

I liked it, but it seemed like nothing was resolved in the end, which made me sad. Still a good movie though.
