Hi there! Just bought my tama 2 hours ago. How long before I get hearts/happiness and training bars?

Also, how would I know if it is hungry, sad, wants to play? I'm not familiar with the graphics yet.

I would appreciate your advices and suggestions. I really want to take care of my pet realy well.

Er, well first of all, the instructions provide all of the basic information necessary to raise the things. And a little messing around with it would have told you that it beeps when it needs something (food, play, cleaning, etc). You feed it to get hunger hearts, play with it to get happy hearts, and scold/praise it when necessary to raise the training bar..
