in the version 2 model, what is does "gen" mean?

it's in the first option, below the gender. it says "gen. 1G"

what is that???

GEN means Generation number.

If you mate your Tamagotchi character, they will have a baby. After the baby is old enough, the adult will return to Tamagotchi Planet, leaving the baby in your care. This usually occurs when the adult is about 7-10 days old. If you take good care of the baby, and it lives to be an adult, it can mate and have a baby of its own. In this manner you can take care of generation after generation of Tamagotchi characters, continuously.

GEN is a short form for Generation.

When two Tamagotchis mate, and have a child, you now have a new generation of tamagotchi! There is no limit to a generation number, as far as I am concerned. I've been up to my 13 generation.

Good luck with your Tamagotchi!

GEN is short for Generation. It's a long word, so it's shortened.

If your tamagotchis grows to be an adult, and it mates with another tamagotchi character, it will have a baby. When the parent leaves the baby, and you start taking care of it, it will be your next generation. If that tamagotchi lives to be an adult it can have a baby and you can start another generation.

If you're a really good caregiver you can get a lot of generations. But the generation number only goes up to 99, as with weight and age.

If you get up to the 99th generation, and that tamagotchi has a baby, it will be another generation, just not counted in your tamagotchi's status report.
