what dose lamp do

on the connections dose the lamp turn it off, or just the lights ?

if just lights how do you turn it off

It turns the lights off so your tamagotchi can sleep...Just hit the middle button while it's selected and you can choose whether to turn them off or on. This information is in the manual.
