What batteries does the Pocket Biscuit use?

Does anybody know what batteries the pocket biscuit uses. I just got one, only to realize that I don't actually know what batteries this guy eats. I've been poking around on the internet, but have yet to find anything. Thanks in advance!

Since it’s an old virtual pet I believe you need LR44 batteries. Can you check the instruction manual and look at the battery section?

That's what I was thinking too, but I wanted to make sure before I bought LR44s.

I'm blind, so I cant read the manual on my own, and because its in Japanese my family won't help. (Even if I tell them what to look for, they'd just brush me off with an "its all in japanese", and not help any further.)

I've been poking around online, but haven't found the kind of batteries they used.

I checked one of Tamagotchi groups on Facebook and found it actually uses LR44 batteries.
