Dolphins On Land!
By ME! =D
Did you know that Dolphins used to live on land? Well they did! And I shall tell you my story of how I found that out! But first, let me introduce myself. My name is Midna, Just one of your average 12-year-old girls…plus an up session of Dolphins. I have Messy black hair and golden amber eyes. (unique, eh?) That people started calling me “Alien eyes” or “Golden eyes” for.
At school is where my adventure began:
“Good morning, class!” Ms. Nowell, my teacher, said sweetly. Ms. Nowell is my 1st Period teacher. She teaches Grammar, Writing, and Reading. She’s really nice and has short blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. “Today, I have to give you a project to do. You will each be in a pair of 2 and decide on what to research…AND SOLVE A MYSTERY!” she exclaimed. “So get in your pair and decide on what to research for the next 5 weeks!” Half of the class rushed to their best friend’s desk. “So what are we going to research?!” Asked Malon in her usual perky voice, after she ran to my desk. Malon is my Best Friend Forever, or BFF. She has wavy reddish hair, hazel eyes and is always perky and happy no matter what. She is also an A-student, which I envy. “…Err…I dunno…Dolphins?” I mumbled. “Yea! You know how you always tell me that you think Dolphins used to live on land? Well, why don’t we research if your hypothesis is true?!” She smiled of her idea. “Yea! We could go to Dolphin show or something to ‘research’ too!” I said, enjoying Malon’s idea.
“Augh… Don’t bring that topic up again, ‘Alien eyes’!” said a voice from behind. It was James, the kid that everyone hates except for maybe his ‘monkey slave’, Austin. James and Austin are both Brunettes and they’re mean! (all I can say ‘bout them.) Always ‘causing trouble. “Shush up, yo.” said a red spiky-haired kid behind him. (See? Everyone hates him.) “No, you shush up!” yelled Austin, standing up for James. Suddenly everyone started telling each other to ‘shush up’. “Oh goodie..” I said sarcastically. “another fight caused by James and his monkey slave, Austin.” I saw Ms. Nowell heading toward the fighting crowd of kids. “Stop it! Stop it! What’s going on!?!?” Ms. Nowell said surprised. “It’s Midna’s fault!” James blamed. “Yeah! Her and her stupid theory of Dolphins living on land!” Austin joined in. “Midna!?” Ms. Nowell was surprised how the fight had started. “Midna can research whatever she wants. Same with you.” James and Austin looked disappointed that I didn’t get in trouble.
After school, Malon and I were walking home discussing our project and what happened in class. “Great…everyone doesn’t believe me and my theory!” I paused. “You believe me, don’t ya, Malon?” “Of course I do!” She said as if it was most obvious. “Why?” I questioned. “Just because we’re friends? No, really, why?” Malon paused, after a few seconds she sighed. “I knew I’d have to tell you this sooner or later…” “What are you talking about?” I said in confusion. Was there something Malon didn’t tell me?
“I…I can read minds…” She said, looking at the floor. My eyes widened in disbelief. “No…Friggin’…way…No wonder you get A’s! That is so awesome!….You’re like Charles from the X-Men!” I exclaimed, so excited. Malon giggled. “Yup! I always hear Dolphins talking to each other, how much they’re tired of People pushing them around to do tricks, and want to live on land again.” Silence. “Ha-ha! My hypothesis wa right!” I exclaimed, while doing the ‘anime victory pose’. “Now all we need to do is prove it in a different way.” We stopped to think. “Let’s go ask the Dolphins!” She said. “I can interpret what they say.” We both raced to my house to drop off our stuff then took 2 random bikes from my garage to ride to the closest Dolphin place we knew. “Hey, Midna, ever wondered if you have those yellow eyes for a reason? Like some magical power like laser-eyes?” she curiosity asked. “Amber. And, yes, that would be cool.“
“We’re here.” I said. The sign above the store read ‘Ocean Creatures’. “Yay!” Malon’s perky voice was perkier than usual. “this is so cool! We’re gonna talk to Dolphins!” We rushed inside. “Dolphins….Dolphins…” I thought to myself aloud. “Oooh! There’s Dolphins!” Malon Exclaimed. There was a sign that read ‘Dolphins‘ and there was a big tank for the Dolphins. The place was empty so noone would see us talking to Dolphins and think we’re crazy. “Hey, little Dolphins!” squeaked Malon.. “we need to ask you some questions!” Suddenly a group of Dolphins swam to the side of the tank where we were. “Cool, they listened!” I said, amazed. “OK, first question, your kind used to live on land? If yes, tell us the whole story!” One of the Dolphins, I guess it’s the leader, began to make squeaking sounds. “…Err… I dunno what they’re saying..” I said. “But I do!” Said Malon. And she began to interpret. “They say that ‘Centuries ago they did live on land, but then ‘the worthless humans’ forced them into the water and used them for entertainment, to do tricks and stuff. And now we’re going to take revenge of the Humans!” Malon interpreted. We both gasped. And then the Dolphins leaped out of their tank and used their back fins to walk like feet. “Well, this ain’t good..” I said, scared. “RUN!!!” Malon shouted. We started to run out of the building and into the streets, forgetting about our bikes. We ran and ran then turned into an alley. “OK…I think…We lost them.” I said wheezing. Suddenly, Malon grabbed onto my shoulders and started shaking me like mad. “What are we gonna do!?” She panic. I could see the terror in her widened, hazel eyes. “I don’t know..” I said, also in panic. “But something tells me that we’ll have to save the world from Dolphins!”
