OK i'm sure most of you know what global warming is.
Anyway El niño is a weather pattern that happens every few years. It causes Australia to have colder waters when it usually has warmer waters and Peru to have warmer waters when usualy they have colder waters. Peru was first affected by El niño because fishermen noticed that they didn't catch any anchovies when usually they caught millions of them. The fish like colder waters so they left the coast of Peru to find colder waters to live in then came back when the normal water temperature for Peru came back.
That quote basically explained what El niño is.
Not only Australia and Peru are effected by this terrible weather change. Everyone is.
Australia suffers drought while Peru has rain and flooding.
A woman experienced the damage of an El niño disaster.
She was married and in her neighbour's house when she was thrown out a window in a mudslide and has said she thought she was going to die and that she remembers trying to breathe.
Her husband unfortuneately did not survive.
Wikipedia has said that Australia may be in drought because of a current El niño.
OK, its not just El niño i'm here to talk about. Its global warming.
What does global warming have to do with El niño?
Everytime an El niño comes around the Amazon rainforest experiences hot weather and dies. The Amazon rainfoest in Brazil absorbes 20% of the worlds carbon dioxide and this beautiful rainfoest is being cut down. Global warming is making El niño more frequent and this has been proved. So If El niño is more frequent and El niño is killing the Amazon rainforest. imagine what would happen to the Amazon if El niño was permanent?
Scary, Right?

^ The above quote I found on a website ^El Niño is a disruption of the ocean-atmosphere system in the Tropical Pacific having important consequences for weather and climate around the globe
