I want to know if you have to be a certain type of tamagotchi character to marry certain types of charaters on the dating show?

Umm... not really. Well, I don't really know. To me, it allcomes down to how you train them. For example:

You marry a Memetchi to a Mumutchi to get a pure Meme family. Then the kids come. Everytime they call for training and you use the training icon, you use the second selection. Keep using that selection each time they call for training to raise a Meme character.

Although family genes do have a small impact on what character you get. I got a Smart Family for three (I think) generations in a row on my V5!

Umm..No. You can have any character marry any other character no matter what it is.
