V3 not marrying...

My V3 is a 7-year-old Mametchi on the first generation. I've probably tried a million times between today and yesterday by resetting the clock to a minute before 10:30, 3:00, and 7:00 in hopes of getting a matchmaker visit but it isn't coming. Does the tama have be to be off of pause for a certain amount of time? It's been on and off of it since the buttons can tend to be randomly pushed in my pocket but I don't think it should affect marriage. Is there anything that could be influencing the (lack of) matchmaker visits?

Pausing does affect marriage, and on top of that, the v1-v3s tend to have the Matchmaker come anywhere from ages 6-8, not just 6.

Yeah sometimes it can be a while before the matchmaker comes on the earlier connections. So maybe wait another day.
