Before anyone asks, an UraTama is a Japanese Tamagotchi. They are not available for purchase at the time of this posting, however they are scheduled to be in stores (in Japan) starting on July 22, 2006.
There are some scans from the Bandai Product Catalog on this Japanese web site: https://tamago.cool.ne.jp/info/uratama.html Yes, they are all in Japanese. If you don't read Japanese, just look at the pretty pictures.
They show case artwork (1st, left), some new characters (3rd left), some items (3rd, right), and IR connection compatibility (4th, left and right).
Neat new function: the photo booth (4th, right, bottom). Photo booths are still popular in Japan. They typically print a sheet of small sticker photos that you can trade with your friends. This new photo booth gives you the opportunity to have your photo taken with your Tamagotchi character.
Neat new character: middle of the bottom row in the above-mentioned character chart. I wonder how it goes potty.
