<_< I really want a pet turtle! How do I convince my parents I am responsible enough?

My parents don't like rodents, so I thought a turtle would be good. My mom had a pet turtle, so she should understand. She said her and my dad will discuss it, in the meantime, how do I prove I am responsible enough?

Turtle? cool, but i dont think they are designed for homes lol.

You shouldn't use your money for shopping or movies or something too much - buy stuff for your turtle.

my cousin used 2 have a BIG turtle. don't know wut happened 2 it tho. iwould prove 2 my mom+dad that i am responsible.

IF I TAKE CARE OF MY DASCHUND FOR A YEAR I'LL GET A MALTESE!!!!!!!!! srry that's how i came up with the answer

I have two turtles (well one , the other died). They are an awesome pet to take care of but if you really want to know more about them, you should ask Aubrey Hepburn. She knows alot about those type of animals.

nuu, they totally are!

my friend has two turtles and i love box turtles. they are so awesome.

i think you could make an example of your responsibility by helping out some friends with their pets (like walk their dogs with them or something.)

Do all your chores and don't argue or talk back to your parents. Be extra nice, but not TOO nice. Then they'll expect something. :ichigotchi:

I wish I could have a turtle! That would be so cool! :D

just do what they say.

dont act up, dont be rude, all that jazz.

but even AFTER (if you do) get your turtle, keep on acting kind and obeying your parents. :D

dont just suck up to get what you want- its like the boy who cried wolf.

your parents wont know if you are truly being kind to them- or if you just want something.

Turtles actually do make wonderful pets! I used to have a red-eared slider! We named him Fred. (hehe) He was such a greay little turtle... But he got a weird shell-infection sort of thing and the vets told us the easiest way for him was if we let him free in the lake, so we did. I'm glad to say he turned out fine! Very healthy. We're not sure about him now, because we only saw him once in the lake and it was only a couple days after we let him go.

I suggest doing all of the suggestions above: Be respectful and obey your parents, but don't be a suck-up, do chores and maybe even a little extra help around the house, and if you do end up getting the turtle, use your allowence to buy stuff for it like turtle-snacks! :furawatchi:
