I'm about to invade this cosy little space. Hope you don't mind :)

Name: Caden Alastair Fletcher

Age: 25

Gender: Male Because I always stick to them. Really pushing the boat out here...

Looks: Six foot three, with hair so dark a brown it's almost black, and beneath it, a completely contrasting pair of deep green eyes. In other words, he's everything his brother- the previous director of the Show Girls- is not. His brother is short, ridiculously thin, with bleached blonde hair- every inch the flamboyant dandy, a big lover of the colour pink and floral patterns. Caden's quieter nature is reflected entirely by his looks, soft yet masculinely chiselled features, and clothes that are still classed as fashionable, but on completely the opposite spectrum to what his brother likes to wear. He prefers his jeans to be a little looser, worn with t-shirts, button up shirts and leather jackets, for example.

Personality: While charismatic, thanks to his performing background, Caden isn't as sure of himself or overconfident as you might think he would be. That's not to say he's shy; just modest, and sometimes bashful- a surprising trait, considering where he's working. He's clearly very passionate about what he does; he works late and takes on other people's roles if they're sick or just slacking off. While his employers have always loved this about him- less work for them, after all!-, it doesn't always do him the world of good. You'll often find him feeling stressed or pressurised, and therefore being in a generally bad mood is not entirely uncommon- it frustrates him that he can't seem to make time for other people, and at the end of the day he finds himself unable so sleep because all he thinks of is work, work, work. But catch him on a good day- and there are equal amounts of those to the bad ones- and he's generally content with his life, talkative and charming to a degree.

Position: He's the brand new director.

How you got into the business: The younger brother of the previous director, Joseph Fletcher, Caden had been in various other jobs as part of the crew since he was in his sophomore year of college. But it wasn't a simple case of keeping it within the family- Caden and Joseph didn't see eye to eye on a lot of things-, and in fact he'd had to try even harder to convince his employers that he was the right man for the job. And, obviously, he was. Prior to and during his time working with the Show Girls, he gained a scholarship at the Juilliard school and studied there to complete his degree, giving him a push in the right direction to getting to where is is today.

Backstory: Life hasn't always been glitz and glamour for the Fletcher family. It was humble beginnings, and the only real expectation upon the Fletcher children- especially with Joseph and Caden, being the oldest- was to continue the family shop running when their parents were too old to do it. Nobody expected that any of them should have a musical or creative bone in their bodies- in fact, Mr.and Mrs. Fletcher liked to joke that they couldn't have been their children, since no-one in the family could even sing a note in tune, or draw a straight line, or say just one line in a play like you really meant it. So it was a great surprise to all of them when Joseph took up dance and theatre classes, when Caden learned several musical instruments of his own accord and acted as well; and, to top it all off, they turned out to be pretty good at it, too.

But Caden had always felt as though he was living in the shadow of Joseph. He was ever the over-the-top, flamboyant entertainer, and it was hard not to be hidden when someone as in-your-face as Joseph was your brother. He'd never felt it more than when he was working as part of the Crew for the Show Girls, and Joseph was director. Even though Caden had succeeded to get into Juilliard, and had passed his classes with flying colours while his brother had not managed either, he was still pushed aside, his opinion ignored. Now, though, he has full control, and he hopes to make the Show Girls even better than they ever have been with some of his own creative flair.

Tarryn, you are, of course, accepted :)

Name: Brielle Harper

Age(19-24): Twenty

Looks: Brielle is the typical show girl- tall, long legs, stick thin, charming smile. She stands at about five feet and ten inches, and wears a siza zero. She can portray any emotion in the world with her almost turquoise eyes. Her naturally straight hair is the color of sand, and it's long, reaching the bottom of her ribcage. For a show girl, Brielle isn't very girly. Her make up is usually very minimal, especially for rehearsal. Not that she needs it. Her tanned skin is crystal clear. A typical outfit for Brielle consists of jeans and a tee-shirt, if not shorts with some leg warmers.

Personality: Brielle is charming, witty, and makes everyone laugh. Sure, she's not as seductive as the rest of the girls, but that's just the part of the job she can't stand. If she wanted to be, she could. But anyways, Brielle is perky almost all the time, but when you catch her in a bad mood, it won't be pretty.

Reason you're a Follie: Brielle has dreamed of dancing for people her whole life. When she auditioned for the Follies, she didn't realize what kind of business they had on the side. But once she did, she had already signed the contract and couldn't quit until the contract was up. So, she's sucking it up and dealing with it. She is the lead dancer, after all.

Backstory: Miss. Harper had been taking dance lessons since she was four. Born and raised in California, with millionare parents, everyone was sure that she'd a star. This isn't what everyone expected her to be the star of. Brielle came to New York after she had a horrible break up with the man she was supposed to marry. Seeing an audition that caught her eye, she ended up here.

Name: Brookelyn Walker

Age(19-24): She is just barely nineteen

Looks: Brookelyn is not the typical show girl, standing at about average height with somewhat long legs and shorter arms and a dazzling smile. She stands at about five foot 6 inches. She is not one of those girls who can squeeze into a size zero due to her curves, but she is by no means fat and has a flat toned stomache. She has blue-grey eyes which can vary day to day from a bright blue to a smokey gray. Her hair is naturally wavy and is a dark brown colour. It isn't very short but,not it its endless(nor fake)like so many ther girls' was, reaching about her waist. Brookelyn is generally girly she is of course more comfortable in jeans or sweats but she loves the feel of being in dresses or skirts, but not the work that goes along with it. Her make up is usually simple, normally neutral shades and light application. Her clear skin is a light shade that rarely ever tans like other girls, for Brookelyn it goes from white to white to red.

Personality: Brookelyn is smart, charming, and witty. She is loud and isnt afraid to speak her mind, which sometimes works faster than her lips can causing her words to turn to incoherant mush, especially when she is nervous. She can be quite seductive when she wants to be, although she doesn't really see herself as an outstandingly attractive girl, just average or even sometimes below. She can have ger sligfht mood swing but she doesn't try and be anyone else, the one thing she really can't stand is fake people.

Reason you're a Follie: Brookelyn had always had high expectations for herself and was thrust into show business as a youg child. Although her dream is to become a doctor she really had no money to get to medical school, and coming from a family who barely got by as it was she never really had the chance to accumulate any sort of college fund. So here she was, finding herself auditioning for a dance group-slash- show girl thing. Brookelyn wasn't exactly expecting glitz and glamour of the spotlight or anything like broadway but she had no idea about the other side of this business but now she couldn't really afford to leave.

Backstory: Brookelyn was raised in a family that was never really well off. When she was younger she took a variety of lessons and was thrust into beauty pagents and kiddie acting auditions and the like. When she was about nine her father got ill and was forced to leave work, this left her family with the huge burden of trying to get by one her mothers income alone. This meant a lot of cutbacks in her life, but her mother never wanted anything to look wrong from the outside. But now Brookelyn was left with high expectation and no way of reaching them. So she found herself in the audition for a running stage show and here she is.

Mystic, you are accepted. :)

Brielle slung her rehearsal bag over her shoulder as she headed out the door to her apartment, locking the door behind her. She braided her sandy, damp hair over her shoulder, pushing the elevator button with her elbow. She was about to be late to rehearsal again. This usually happened after her night, the ones where she was ever-so popular. She was always so exhausted, and getting up seemed to be such the hassle.

The girl stepped into the elevator, pushing the lobby button. She impatiently tapped her foot, angry with herself for waking up late. She checked herself in the mirror- not looking too awful, she thought to herself.

Caden was busy working alongside his choreographer and musical assistant to rehearse the next show. It was his first week on the job, and he'd made the transition fairly smoothly, since he didn't really have to get to know anyone from scratch except his replacement in his old job, though he wasn't nearly as confident as dealing with everyone yet- it would come with time, though, he was sure. At the moment he was watching as the choreographer took them through some steps, and he looked at his watch again. His lead dancer was late. If it had been Joseph, he would have given her an absolute verbal pounding when they arrived- a lot of people were very afraid of him despite his appearance and size; short man, short temper. This was one of the things Caden highly disapproved of, especially because Joseph didn't seem to have sympathy for the girls, considering many of them had signed up for a lot more than they had bargained for and so it was hardly surprising that some of them slept in.

He clapped his hands together and then said, "Alright, places, everyone, music ready. Take it from the top."

Brookelyn say on the floor stretching and twisting herself in various ways in hopes of loosening herself up. This was her first time actually participating in anything. Being the youngest and the newest of all the girls left her with an awkward and somewhat insecure feeling. She looked around at all the other girls suddenly finding herself becoming self concious and embarassed. These girls were all so thin and pretty with toned bodies and tans. When she heard the orders to stand, she did moving in line with all of the other girls silently.

She felt a knot twist in her stomach, she could hear her steady set of 'Just remember the steps' playing in her head. Sure she knew what she was doing, but actually remembering the entire routine was one thing, executing it without messing up was another and Brookelyn couldn't afford to mess up and lose this. She was nervous about what this woulod hold for her, she had watched a couple of rehersals and worked with the coreographer a bit on the steps of theroutine but she had never actually been on one of the nights so she therefore had no clue what to expect. She exhaled a deep breath trying to keep herself calm as the heard the music start.

Name: Fa Meiling 花 美菱 (She goes by Meimei with her friends)

Age(19-24): 19 Years Old

Looks: Meimei is probably the most exotic looking of the 16 girls, because of her strong Chinese heritage. She stands at about 5 feet 5 inches, with a slender build, although it hides muscle from dancing and yoga movements. She has a beautiful face, with almond shaped eyes that are nearly black, golden skin, and shapely lips. Her hair is the color of ink, and it runs halfway down her back. She will sometimes wear it in braids or in a bun, but for the most part, she wears it down, pinning it back with a flower. Her clothing style is very much the indie/bohemian style, and she incorporates vintage into it as well. She loves to wear any color except for white, which is the traditional color of mourning in China. (It holds very strong memories for her). However, she also likes to wear the traditional clothing of China, and will also wear Japanese and other Asian attire. She does this mostly to please the clientele and the audiences, although it does make her feel closer to home.

Personality: She is a very cheerful girl, with a sunny demeanor. She loves to make people smile, and tries to live her life with a smile on her face. However, if she is rubbed the wrong way, she can get very irritated, almost to the point of anger. She is unafraid of telling people what she thinks, although she can be a bit forgetful or flustered sometimes. She is also very dedicated to her work, so if you try and talk to her while she is practicing or learning something, she will ignore you completely; it's not to be rude, but she has a lot of determination. Occasionally she will have "dark days", when she will hide away in her room, and won't see anyone. She can be heard singing mournfully, or playing on her flute, but that is the most sound she will make. She knows how to seduce when she needs to, and uses her exotic-ness to her advantage (even though she doesn't like that part of the job. Oh well).Other than that, she is a very sweet, kind girl, and she just wants to make friends. She loves all things cute and cuddly and lacy and frilly, she loves food, and she is afraid of spiders.

Reason you're a Follie: She has dreams of being a Broadway actress, and upon her arrival to new York, she was pressed for money. So, she eagerly took this job, because she had no way of actually getting onto Broadway yet. So now she's here, trying to get enough money to stand on her own two feet (before she gets her inheritance money), so she can finally pursue her life long dream. Her dancing is good, but her truest talents are her acting and her singing. Her mother before her was an actress, and she learned everything she knows from her mother. Her voice is very clear, and she can change her voice to suit almost any style of music. (Don't ask her to sing country. It's hilarious.) Her acting is on par, due to her years of study in the arts. She considers dancing the weakest of her three skills, but she still tries.

Backstory: Fa Meiling was born in China to a mother who was a well known performer, and to a father who was rarely there. At the age of eight, her parents passed away while they were on a trip, due to a car crash. Meimei was sent to an orphanage, where she danced and sang to remember her mother. A patron of the arts saw her dancing on the street when she was ten years old, and decided to take her in and make her the protege she always wanted. Her caretaker took her all over the world, making her study in different academies for the arts. Meimei's skills grew, and she was hopeful that no more tragedy would find her. Her performance and arts grades were excellent, but her academic subjects were on the brink of failing. At the age of 15, her care taker passed away, and she was in an orphanage once more, this time in Japan. Her caretaker had left inheritance money, but Meimei wouldn't be able to access it until she was 25. Nobody adopted her, so when she was 18, she was on her own, with virtually no money, and no family. With the little money she had, she flew to New York City, to try and start a new life for herself. However, she was just another face in the crowd, and she was desperate for work. When she came upon this job, she jumped at the chance. It would help her build up her career before she got to Broadway, so they would take her seriously.

Name: Juliet Elizabeth Bayle

Age(19-24): Nineteen; nearly twenty

Looks: Juliet’s body has been whipped into incredibly shape by years upon years of dance training; with lean muscles and not an inch of fat on her body – except her chest of course. While most dancers have basically nothing in the bust department, Juliet is the very obvious opposite; really it’s quite unfair. But hey, that’s genetics. She carries herself highly, as a dancer should, making her 5’7 easily noted. Her faultless skin is slightly lighter than ivory, with a metallic rose coloured tint to her cheeks. Her eye color has always frustrated her; as it could appear a sort of gorgeous, mesmerizing hazel color or a plain amber shade. Luckily, most times the green firework around her pupil could be noticed. Her eyelashes are abnormally dark and abnormally long. Most everyone mistakes her for wearing mascara when she isn’t – but she certainly likes it since she saves money on make up. Her shimmering golden hair that falls loosely over her shoulders and tumbles down to just above her waist is her prized possession; one will never see her with it up. Overall, Juliet really is beautiful although she hates to admit it.

Personality: Although her name is Juliet, in no way does her personality resemble that of the innocent and overall rather helpless female lead from Shakespeare’s magnificent play. Every rose has its thorns – and this rose has its fair share of those dangerous spikes, although, in this case, the thorns are hidden incredibly well. Most of the time, Juliet is charming, sweet, caring and all of those other lovely adjectives. Once she has allowed someone into her inner circle of trust, that person will be treated as part of the family. She treats her true friends as if they are members of some sort of elite wolf pack; Juliet will do all sorts of crazy, dangerous things if required to protect them or take care of them. She is highly intelligent and knows it – but certainly isn’t one of those girls who pride themselves on knowing every little fact nor prides herself on having said smarts. When she is pushed over the edge, though, her vast vocabulary will be immanent as she is verbally attacking whoever angered her one too many times. On the inside, though, Juliet is plagued with insecure feelings and deep trust issues. Her family had betrayed her at an early age, therefore making her hard and generally unbreakable. She doesn’t share her hurt, ever. She swore to herself never to cry in front of anyone, even if that meant painfully forcing the tears back down. If she is happy, it will be obvious, as it will be if she is angry; but any other sort of emotion will be a mystery to onlookers.

Reason you're a Follie: Juliet has been training to be a professional dancer her whole life; doing anything else would just be wrong. When she was four, she told her mom that she wanted to be just like those girls, as she pointed to a poster of some show girls on a random building wall in the city one day. And ever since then, she has been in and out of studios, perfecting every routine and working her way to becoming a show girl. One day, she aspires to get on Broadway and hopes that being a Follie will help her reach that girl. Her dancing is certainly good enough; but that’s just because she’s had fifteen straight years of practice.

Backstory: Her father’s job had dragged her all over the United States; forcing Juliet to constantly leave her friends and everything she’s ever loved. Her entire family – including her older brother and mother – had sacrificed their lives to make her father happy; just to discover his cheating on them with other women. He kept them locked up in apartments and hotels, never really accepting the duties he had as a father. Needless to say, this is the reason why Juliet is never quick to trust, basically never loves, and is inside very fragile. Her relationship with her mother and brother is really perfect, though, which was the only thing keeping her sane. She calls her mother every night, after every show just to check up on her and texts her brother constantly with updates. They’re the only real lasting care she’s ever known.

Both Becca and VIdeoStar are accepted, of course :)

Brielle ran into the theatre, momentarily forgetting that Caden had taken his brother's position. She put on her sexy face, the way she usually got herself out of trouble these days. Or at least, that's how it worked with Joseph. When Brielle realized that Caden was standing in Joseph's place, her face relaxed. She would just calmly explain to Caden that it'd been a rough night. Hopefully, he'd take the hint.

Brielle rushed on stage, stretching hers arms along the way. Once she got in front of Caden, she took a deep breath and explained, "Mr. Fletcher, I'm so sorry. It was such a long night last night, and I completely slept through my alarm," she had never noticed that Caden was this attractive up close, "I-It won't happen again..."

Last edited by a moderator:
Everyone had cringed when the door to the theatre opened and Brielle entered, as though waiting for the outburst to come from the director. Of course, everyone had forgotten about Caden becoming the new director, and there was a long, relieved letting out of breath again when Caden just smiled encouragingly at Brielle and said to her, "That's okay, Brielle. I understand. Just stretch off and join in when you're ready. " He took his reading glasses off and set them down beside his papers, chuckling to himself as he said, "And, please, call me Caden; you make me feel like my brother." He understood very well why any of the girls had any reason to be late or sore or not feeling themselves after such a busy night. He tried to distance himself from the idea that he was in some way involved because he was part of the production, because in truth he wasn't too fond of the idea, but a job was a job and he was dedicated to his role, and the show was still the most important part to him.

Thank ya :)

Juliet's golden eyes were settled on the exchange between Caden and Brielle; interested in this new director's methods. He seemed understanding, dedicated, and the fact that he was pretty darn cute didn't hurt. Her torso twisted this way and that, a deep sigh of content drifting through her parted lips every time a soft pop could be heard. She was stretching quietly in the corner, feeling abnormally sore; the previous night had been busy for everybody and Juliet wasn't surprised that Brielle had slept in. Eventually, when she felt as if her body wouldn't completely shatter if she happened to shift her weight, she forced herself up with a groan and dragged herself into line.

Meimei had been wearing a look of panic when Brielle hadn't shown up on time. I thought she would have gotten up on her own! Oh man... But once the girl had entered the room, Meimei let out a huge sigh of relief, and took her spot next to Brielle in the front. "Bri-bear!" She said, in a playful scolding manner. "You silly girl! You're alarm is so loud, it could wake the dead!" She then gave her friend a hug and told her, "Still, Caden is really nice. I'm super glad that he's the new director. He's kinda cute, I guess... not really my type or anything, but that's a plus! Imagine if it had been Mr. Fletcher." She started to imitate his voice. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!? YOU'RE HOLDING US UP! YOU'RE LUCKY I DON'T KICK YOU OUT RIGHT NOW!!!" Then she started jumping up and down, feigning anger. She then fell to the floor, laughing as she stretched herself out just a bit more.

Name: Sophie Lawrence

Age: Nineteen

Looks: Sophie's kept in shape all her life, what with all the sports she's been forced into and fallen out of. Her true love though, is singing and dancing. The only activity this girl has stuck with is wailing on those notes, showing up everyday to dance practice (whether she was allowed to or not), and gracing the stage with her ability to command it with just her speech. She stands at 5' 6" with not necessarily the longest legs but she works them anyway! Her golden hair falls into soft curls just below her shoulders and causes her to show off her stunning smile in the mirror everytime. Her gray eyes tend to change color with her mood, so it's a little bit unfortunate that you can always tell if she's feeling stormy or upset if you look close enough. The flawless skin she was lucky enough to have is sun-kissed but not extremely tan. This girl is armed with a set of pipes that'll knock your socks off as well as the looks she's so insecure about.

Personality: Outgoing, bubbly, and optimistic are just a few words that could describe Sophie. But underneath it all, she sometimes feels a little lost and really insecure. She can hide those feelings though, and is naturally kind, sweet, charming, friendly, energectic, and ready to take on every challenge. She is strongly against showing anyone any pain or weakness whatsoever, as she was taught in her family. But being as brilliant as she is, she uses everything in her power to pursue her dreams and ferociously protect the ones dear to her.

Reason you're a Follie: Sophie attended her first Broadway musical when she was 6 years old. She was mesmerized by everything they did on stage and wanted to be just like them when she grew up. She knew from a young age that she was meant to be in shows and on the big screen. She's been working nonstop to deny her mother and become what she's always dreamed, an actress who brings down the house with her singing and dancing on Broadway and one who brings the characters to life in movies.

Backstory: Sophie's parents had been divorced since before she could remember. While her father was supportive of her dreams, her mother and step-father refused for her to take part in any of it. Once her step-father George and her step-sisters became part of the picture and he realized that Sophie was more talented than his dear daughters at performing he forced her to be in every other sport known to man, attempting to eat up all her time. But Sophie's real dad wouldn't stand for it, he enrolled her in dance instruction, hired an acting coach, and found Sophie a voice teacher. While George's daughters continued to fail and Sophie continued to flourish at the arts, he began to occasionally beat her. Unfortunately Sophie's mother turned a blind eye to the monstrosity and left her daughter to fend for herself against the beatings and verbal abuse from her own mother. Now Sophie's out to prove her mother and step-family

wrong and to make her father proud.

Brielle hugged Meimei and sighed. "I had five customers last night. I didn't get to sleep until four in the morning, and now we're here at seven." When Meimei said something about Caden being cute, she shrugged, dropping into the splits, "I mean, he's a lot nicer to look at than Mr. Fletcher was. And at least I didn't have to 'step into the dressing room' with him to keep my job." Brielle took a deep breath and hummed to herself as she stretched. This was the part of rehearsal that hurt the most. She moved into the butterfly position and stretched her groin muscles, which were the sorest of them all.

"Well... I don't really have anything to say about the surge of customers. Honestly, the only guys I get are the sleaze bags who want 'a taste of the orient'. Blech. They should go down to the restaurant down the street if they want that, really. It's cheaper," she said whimsically, doing the splits, then going into downward facing dog. Her face turned a deep shade of red, but she continued talking anyway. "I think that Mr. Fletcher--not Caden, the short blonde one-- is trying to overcompensate for his shortcomings as a lover. Either that or maybe he's secretly gay. Maybe." She got into a hand stand and started walking on her hands in a small circle. "Oh, Brielle, if you have any free time tonight, we should go and have a girls' night out, and invite some of the others along. I swear, we need a break every so often, right?"

Haha, thank you for making it clear for idiots like me, Becca xD

Caden couldn't help but be curious about what the girls were talking about while they stretched off; he'd been horrified when he overheard Brielle mention what his brother used to do in order to get the message across that he didn't like it when they were late, nearly choking on his coffee. He then did so again, in fact, though much more noticeably this time around, when he heard what Meimei said about Joseph, but instead of it being in horror, it was because he was trying not to laugh. Because Joseph was, in fact, gay -which was obviously why he was so shocked about the dressing room thing-, and also because hearing someone say something about his brother's sex life like that was the opinion he had, that he thought noone else shared. He turned away, deciding it probably wasn't a good idea to carry on listening- especially because he'd made it perfectly clear that he was thanks to his coffee incidents, and instead looked over the directions he'd written down for the next number that they were set to rehearse.

Meimei looked over at Caden when he began to choke on his coffee, and it instantly dawned on her that he had been listening to their conversation. She was about to apologize for talking so poorly about Joseph-- although she really wasn't sorry at all, until she noticed his face. He was laughing! That made Meimei laugh as well, but then she mused on what she had just said. "No way! I knew it!!! I knew it all along! I was right!" Meimei squealed, clapping her hands together and giggling. She then covered her mouth and got a look of seriousness on her face. "I'm sorry, sir. um... I'll just shut up now, okay?" She then regained the cheerful look on her face and wen back to stretching, making soft humming noises to help her relax. Now was not the time to be fooling around. Rehearsal was supposed to be very serious business!

Name: Sumalee "Mali" Srisai

Age: 19

Looks: As she is Thai, she looks like a typical young Thai girl. Sleek, black hair which falls to about shoulder length, dark brown eyes, she is slim and about 5'4" her skin is slightly tanned.

Personality: Mali is a happy, fun girl, but can be a little quiet at times, especially around people she doesn't know. This, however, doesn't stop her from putting on a great show. She loves to sing and dance.

Reason you're a Follie: All her life, Mali has loved singing and dancing. She did drama, dance and music classes when she was at school, but when she got older, she decided ordinary singing and dancing wasn't enough. No, she wanted to be a Follie, not caring whether or not she was known as a "show girl" She knew this was her fate.

Backstory: When Mali was 6, she and her family moved from Thailand. She picked up English pretty quickly, and at age 8 she discovered her love of music. She was constantly singing songs and making up dance routines, which sometimes annoyed her parents. Eventually, her parents were okay with it and got her dance and voice lessons. She excelled at all this and decided she wanted to sing and dance when she got older, and all the rest is in "Reason you're a Follie"
