The doctor shook his head at David and Marco. They burst into tears. 'She's going to die!' David sobbed. The doctor shook his head again. 'She might not,' he replied, 'But the treatment will cost a lot of money.' Marco looked at David, in the hope that David was going to reveal a big cheque to pay in. He didn't. 'The treatment will cost around 800,000GP' the doctor explained, 'But there is a 35% chance she won't survive.' David sighed. 'What do we do Dad?' Marco mouthed at David. He sighed once more. 'I suppose we'll just have to play loads of games with Sally and Milly to get the money,' he whispered. The doctor paused. 'You have 2 days to have the money for the treatment,' he added, 'Or otherwise I will turn the cardio machine off, and, and...' There was a pause. Tears dropped from the doctor's eye. 'Or we will have to kill her.'
