Kate was a Meloditchi.
She lived inside an iD L belonging to a four-year-old boy.
The boy's parents had thought it was a regular toy, and bought it for his birthday.
He mistreated Kate, and neglected her. It was just chance that she turned into Meloditchi.
So Kate ran away. WHAT HAPPENED TO HER?

Hello. I'm a Meloditchi. I don't have a name, my awful owner Tommy didn't give me one. So I named myself. My name is Kate. I recently decided to run away after Tommy left me at home when he went to school. I know his parents were out shopping for his fifth birthday. I was a gift for his fourth. I'm almost one year old! Anyway, as soon as I heard the parents' car driving away from the house, I made a run for it. First, I burrowed through the wall of my cage. Then I squeezed through all the circuit boards that make the lights and other stuff in my house work. I spent a while pushing the battery cover, then finally got it open. I pushed it out of the way with a huge effort and stared. I was on a desk. I looked back and saw my house. "Goodbye, house" I whispered, and walked away. I slid down the leg of the table like it was a pole. I looked round. I jumped in the air and yelled at the top of my voice: "I'm freeeeee!".
Just then, I heard voices. Tommy was back, and so were his parents! I looke quickly for a place to hide. I tried to get under Tommy's bed, but I couldn't fit. I scampered out of his room and saw that the room next to it had a huge sofa. Quickly, I darted under it and crouched, tense, breathing hard. Tommy wanted to go and look at his toy, so he ran to his room. I held my breath. Tommy let out a loud wail. His parents came rushing in. They saw it too. I had managed to push the circuit boards out and bend them around a bit, and the window seperating my house from Tommy's face when he looked was smashed somehow. Of course, there was a huge hole in my wall where I had escaped. The parents took my hateful house away and promised Tommy they would buy him a new one. I feel sorry for that Tama that is going to be on there. I hope to teach that one to escape, too. I'd love to have a friend.
