'Time for the picnic!' Rosalynn said to her friend Wendy. Rosalynn and Wendy had always been good friends who did everything together. Today was a special day for them. They were having a picnic in the park.
'Here's the sandwiches and the juice-boxes, and here's the ice-cream money!' Wendy said to Rosalynn, holding up a little cooler and a coin purse. They walked to the park and sat down on a bench to enjoy a delicious little lunch. After they ate, they played on the swings, made a sandcastle in the huge sand-box, and wrote each other little notes.
'Wendy, here's the ice-cream truck!' shouted Rosalynn, and they ran up to the colourful truck, joined by several other kids. The girls chose ice-cream sandwiches, paid the ice-cream man, and went back to their bench to enjoy their desserts.
