"Toymaker Bandai last week "launched" (as if it were the Space Shuttle or something) a virtual "town" on the Web called TamagotchiTown. If you go there, you will leave this world and enter an alternate dimension of ultra-cuteness which takes the Tamagotchi "virtual pet" thing into the 21st century. From the press release, issued "by decree of His Royal Majesty, the Tamagotchi King":
Fans can go online and shop in the TamaTown mall, eat in the international food court, watch a movie at the theater, visit with their virtual pet's parents and grandparents, meet the King and even travel the world -- just as long as they have their official Tamagotchi passport. And through the exchange of passwords, special items and treats can then be collected in the Tamagotchi egg as well."

Only if the author can feel how we feel about the "coming soon" places in TamaTown. The "soonest" can be like 1 month or half a year, depending on how programmers run TamaTown.
