The Never Ending Beginning

You know when you get an onion and peel away at its many layers? One layer reveals another layer and so on and so forth until you have heaps of onion layers surrounding you and you begin to wish that you had never started peeling the onion in the first place to get in that state. A lot of stories are like that. One bad situation turns into another, into another and another until there is no hope and then finally hope comes along and that is the end. But this story is not like that. This story is called the never ending beginning. What I really mean is it is always like the beginning and there is always no hope and hope never comes along. A bit like Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. This is The Never Ending Beginning and as I mentioned, it looks like there is no way out and there is no way out, and there is no happy ending, just a sad ending. But what I don't understand, is why it had to happen to those two innocent twins.
