Tamagotchi scratch protection

So after I had my black TMGC+C get all scratched up (even though it was living in a microfiber sunglasses case), I started trying other ways to protect my tamas.

Clockwise from the upper left: Vinyl zipper case, SealLine dry bag, EZY-DOSE Pill Pouch, 3"x4" 2mm ziploc bag.

(The green TMGC+C also has a cut-down phone-screen-protector over its display.)

The good news is the IR works fine between the two TMGC+Cs through the cases!

Here is my breakdown in order of toughness:

1. The dry bag seems to offer the most protection as it seems to be made of the thickest material. It protects pretty well from drops. I think the reason why is because the the clear vinyl statically-clings to the tama, keeping it from moving around inside the case.

2. The vinyl zippered bag is okay, and seems to have the best play-through experience, but I don't like how the TMGC+C tends to slide around in it.

3. The pill pouch is the perfect size for the chibi and while not as hefty as the vinyl ones, I really think it has done a great job protecting the tama when it gets tossed daily into a deep tote bag.

4. The 2mm thick ziploc bag offers the least protection, and tends to get these annoying wrinkles, so I'll probably be swapping it out with something else soon.

In other news, I also have a hard tama case (not pictured) that I will be using with an angelgotchi. I just wish they had come out with hard cases for the other models too!

I am always looking for creative ways to carry my tamas around but right now I use a small/ thin zippered make up bag. I don't have a picture but it's the kind you get as a gift with purchase from the makeup counters at department stores. My tamas fit side by side perfectly in them. I change bags depending on how many tamas I am running at the time but so far my tamas are pretty well protected. I saw that TamaMum uses baby socks to protect hers, I am definitely going to try out that idea since it seems like it should work well on individual tamas.

I make fleece pouches and carry mine around in one of those little ds backpacks. So far its worked to help prevent scratches on the paint and stuff, but I havent been doing it for long. But, its easy to decorate the pouches, so I put gold puffy paint designs on mine. Though, I have heard the cellphone and ds screen protectors work ok (if you can keep them on), and that you can cut out squares to fit you tama.

I leave mine home (I have three Tama-Go's, and those bulky buggers would be a pain to carry around!). Mostly because my screens aren't like most Tama-Go's. I got my first two at Target in Black and Magenta/Pink. The plastic cover is diamond-like (it has diamond cuts in it rather than just flat) and it doesn't actually cover the screen. Whereas my Blue one has a full plastic cover.

I can't imagine how much of a pain it'd be to have the actual screen scratched! So I'm leaving them home. Maybe I'll carry ONE around.

I use a cute handbag that I bought from a fun store to carry mine around. It zips at the top and keeps my TamaGo and Music Star safe and happy!

The things you use to decorate the tama comes with a case thingy and you can even decorate it. I heard they are really durable and even saved someone's tama from breaking when it fell so i really reccomend those.

I bought some Nintendo DS screen pretectors and applied it on my Tama-Go's screen. The best protection from the screen being scratched I've bought

at the moment mine r on a homemade lanyard (no case, just strung on) underneath my jumper. it keeps them warm and dry and ive yet to get them paticularily scratched, especially on the screens. but i guess i have 1 of those pink sparkly semi transparent music stars and a mostly white famlitchi so they arent prone to scratches on the paintwork.

One of the most uncreative ways to carry a tama is buying a gotchi gear pouch. If you want to jazz it up a bit,you could take off the Mametchi,Kutchipatichi etc toy (you get a free soft toy character in return: woo-hoo!)and sew little pads onto the pouch. I haven't tried this yet,since I am rubbish at sewing,but I'd like to see how it turns out!

I have empty boxes with lids. I keep all my Tamas in there. I own 9. Its kept them safe for three years so far!

I have a Hello Kitty lunchbox and I carry my 4 tama-gos around in that. I also carry more stuff in there. A deck of cards, a baby slinky and a hacky sack.

I have a little takeout box that I put my iD-L in when I'm going somewhere.As for my connections,I made a little bracelet with a clasp on the end fo clip on the keychain.I just clip one Tama on,wear the bracelet, and hold it in my hand so I can't drop it.It works well,I got the idea from my Tama loving friend.

there's a backpack that is the perfect size for my tamagotchi idl plus it has a compartment the size to fit two triple a batterys! perfect!

i keep it in this box thing that sits on my desk and i don't have any scratches ^.^
