Tamagotchi P's Pets?

Hello! I just received my first pet today and was wondering if i would have to wait until tomorrow to collect another one? because i met the fishy looking one and another one three times already (as and adult). So i was wondering if I'm doing something wrong or if i have to wait!?

You can have one pet per adult Tamagotchi. Once you have 'kept' a pet, you won't be able to get another one until the next generation has reached adult hood.
