ok so i went over to the book thing to go look at my tamas parent and it showed a smilie face excpet it wasent happy it had a bored look on its face what is it for?

It's not really for anything. It's just the similar kind of thing that you have on the 4th health meter screen, the one that shows you how old your tama is, what it weighs and what it's name is.

It's only to show you your tama's weight, age, etc. It's like a health icon; the expression on the face means nothing, and it's always the same.
