Tamagotchi On App registration?

Hi, so I’ve had my tamagotchi On for awhile now, but the ONE THING I cannot understand to save my life, is how the registration on the app works. For example, I call my Tama onto the app, and I can see my family tree. I return Tama to device, go to profile, and I can’t see it anymore. Is it supposed to be like that? Or if anybody would like to just fill me in on how the whole thing works, I would really appreciate that too.
