Tamagotchi Mini

Hey all. I just picked up a Tamagotchi Mini today at my local Target. I bought the black one with flames on it. Just wondering if anybody else has one so they can let me know what they're like. I'm torn between opening it for myself or sending it to one of my friends in another state who wants one really bad. I stashed a couple so I can always go back and get them I suppose. If anyone has any knowledge of them let me know. My internet searches were rather unfruitful. Thanks!

Are they like a tamagotchi connection only smaller?

They're way smaller and the screens seem to have bigger pixels and not as many (obviously). Unfortunately, they don't have the connection feature, they're like the first gen tamagotchis. I'm just wondering how many characters they are supposed to have and what types of games, etc. I can't find anything about them.
