Tamagotchi Codes V4 Question

I have tried entering the new Tamagotchi v4 codes with the Shop Keeper, as normal, but it beeps out, and it won't let me. It won't let me press A three times in a row, quickly... Is my Tamagotchi too young? Do I have to wait until he grows up? Or did this happen because I cheated with the times so that I could get more stuff from the shop?

When I entered the codes in the shop I found that my V4 beeped at me several times.

It takes patience, but I just kept trying. I pressed A x 3 then a short pause and pressed A again - that seemed to get the shop keeper suprised OK

But yes, sometimes the tama just wouldn't accept the code and beeped it's "failed" sound.
