The v3 has many different/new features! And I hope I can fit them all into one message!
First lets start with the characters--There is now 52 characters total for Tamagotchi toys.

And now lets go on to your questions--The shop codes!
To enter a shop code, go to your shop. Press A once, then press A three times quickly. The shopkeeper will look happy/suprised (Whatever you want to call it.) Once the shopkeeper has that look on his face, you can type in the code. The first button is A, the second one B, and the third one C. Your next question was how do you get Parents and Grandparents. Well, when your Tamagotchi adult is visited by the matchmaker (A.K.A. Ms. Busybody) the matchmaker will ask if you want your tamagotchi to love each other. If you press 'Yes', then your Adult Tamagotchi can have a baby. After 24 hours, the adult will disappear. After the adult disappears, go to the button on your Tamagotchi that looks like a book. Then, go to 'Family' and press Parent. You will be able to see some of the stats of your parent, and you can get a password to visit your parent at
