Should I get the Tama-go if I already have a Friend's?

Title basically says it all. I recently won a Tamagotchi Friends in an auction among other versions but I've heard it's a lot like the Tama-go, which I kinda want just for the cute figures. But is there any point to get it? Is it any different from Friends?

Go for it, the friends sort of give off a tama go vibe but there are different characters.
