Selling in P's

I am sure that when I first had my P's a Tama arrived in the garden and asked if I had anything to sell, allowing me to sell on some of the extra toys I had accrued. I now have quite a few items that I'd like to sell on, rather than just erase, but I cannot seem to get the Tama to come back? It doesn't seem to matter what time of day it is, I either get letters or the Food Cart.

I was wondering if anyone could help?
