Scrambled screen

So my daughter's Tamagotchi started acting odd. The screen is coming up scrambled. I've tried changing the batteries, hitting the reset button, and leaving it without batteries for a few minutes.
At one time, the screen did show up normal, but then it went blank and when a button was pushed, it showed up scrambled again.

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

There might be something internal with the toy, I think you’ll have to request another device/refund.

I have to second what iTamannadi says - unfortunately, this appears to be a faulty device.

OK. Thanks for the replies.
Tried calling the number on the web site - 714-816-9560, but that just directs to the website form... So just wrote a message there.
Hopefully we'll hear back from them.
