What in the worlde is an RPG? I was bored so I decided to look at reviews of Pokemon Games (Blue/RedYellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal)

So what is an RPG?

Everybody in the reviews were saying things like "its the worst RPG game ever!" or "this is the bewst RPG game ever!"

Well, they obviously, have not played videogames before.It's an adventure game.

You are playing the role of the adventurer thus playing his role thus it being a Role playing game.

It's not adventure. It's classified RPG because you gain experience, level up, buy items, name your character... those are all aspects of a RPG game. I think you should look it up before you reply.

A RPG (Role Playing Game) is a lot like pokemon games. And they might not have meant the video games. They might have meant a forum RPG or a RPG online game. Maybe so you can get some reviews that are a bit more clear try typing in things like:

-Pokemon DS games

-Pokemon Gameboy games

-Pokemon video games

An RPG would be like, even Golden Sun is an RPG.

Crystalized: So is Maplestory. It's strategy and adventure... it's still an RPG, right?
