Ratchet and Clank: Running Low - Prologue
"Ratchet, why aren't you getting ready?" Clank whined, tapping his metallic foot against the floor. "Hang on Clank, let me feed him first and put him on pause," Ratchet answered. "Feed and put what on pause?" Clank gasped. "My new virtual pet. I got it from a market down the street. Seems advanced. It calls for me whenever it needs something," Ratchet explained. "Wait, you expect me to wait because of a digital tech pet?" Clank yelled. "He didn't mean that, little guy. Don't listen to him," Ratchet cooed as he put his hand on the screen. "Ratchet, when will you ever learn that we're real, and that is not?" Clank lectured Ratchet. "Hey, he needed a good home! I'm his new caretaker. No one upsets Tamagotchi!" Ratchet yelled. "Tama...gotchi?" Clank asked. "Yes. Tamagotchi," Ratchet said calmly.

"Tamagotchi. A virtual keychain pet that was released in the 1980s. This toy is a virtual, and raisable pet that can evolve into different characters. Its name is translated as "egg watch" and was created by Akihiro Yokoi of WiZ and Aki Maita of Bandai. Most of the characters names end in the word '-tchi'." Ratchet said as he read the page. "Interesting. I never saw those high-tech devices," said Clank. "It's simple, Clank. You gotta make sure it won't die," explained Ratchet. "Oh. What did you name your pet?" asked Clank curiously. "I named him Kaden, after my father." answered Ratchet, trying not to shed tears. "I can see why you did." Clank chuckled as he patted Ratchet on his back.
"Now, let's go over to the Solana galaxy and see if we can go see our friends. Maybe they'll like your little friend." Clank suggested, trying to cheer up Ratchet. "Yeah, maybe." Ratchet sniffled. "Don't be upset. Let the past go, my friend..." Clank said, trying to sound poetic. "You know your poetic skills are a little rusty." Ratchet laughed. "Ha ha, very funny." Clank sneered. "Let's go to the Solana galaxy."
