Pretty Stupid... Kids Skating

My community centre, the one I go to daycare at, (I'm 11. 12 more months and I won't have to, YAY! xD) is letting young kids... as young as four that don't even know how to skate go skating with no helmets, protection, or anything. And there is 40 kids and 2 supervisors, the supervisors aren't even going on the ice.

Don't you think thats pretty bad? 0.o

I went rollerblading down a hill and nearly broke my leg because I wasn't wearing knee pads and stuff.

I think it's reeeally unsafe. I've never been ice skating but I'm pretty sure rollerblading is close enough.

But you can slice your self open with ice skates which is really dangerous. There should be wayyy more supervisors.

You should gte a parent to talk to them or something

Isn't there some sort of rule that says that a minimum number of adults have to be there? Do the adults have first aid training?

They really should make kids wear helmets. Ice is really nasty to fall on.

In this day and age, it seems really stupid. Especially for a Daycare.

But when I was little, I never used helmets and other pads.

I never wear helmets when I skate, and I'm fine. Otherwise I wouldn't be here typing right now. I take figure skating lessons, but I'm still kind of a beginner. I can skate backwards pretty fast already, and I can do frontwards and backwards cross-overs. Sorry if I sound rude but I dont really care about supervision at skating, wearing helmets when ur skating, etc. etc. etc. Where I skate there's a lot of supervision. And everyone I know dont wear helmets when they skate and they're all fine.

I say let 'em skate. I never skated with pads when I was a kid. Sure, I fell. I got scrapes, bruises, cuts. But I'm still here now, and I'm fine. People are so over protective these days.

I went to a skating rink with my cousins and they didnt tell us to put on a helmet (Because were big boys know )

But I think if your like under 7 you should consider it.

Were you talking about like.. Roller skating or ice skating?

Ice skating I can understand not wearing any kind of protective gear.

Now if it were ice hockey and they weren't wearing any kind of protection.. Uh. Yeah no. That doesn't work.
