Unlike the other stories I have posted, this one has been made up by me, with no help at all, on the spot, right now.
Perry's Poison Part 1
Martin, Aged 11 and Lilly, Aged 10 go into a toy shop and buy something unusually amazing
'Finally, that new toy shop is open!' Martin yelled dashing into the building surrounded by neon lights and made out of polished marble. 'Woo hoo!' Lily shouted closely following Martin into it. It was a gorgeous site. Bright yellow walls, dark green ceiling and a cream carpet. The sheer amount of toys astounded the two children. There were tens, possibly hundreds of shelves full of goodies, just waiting to be bought. 'How much have you got?' Lily asked staring at the coins in Martin's hand. 'I've got £10.50,' Martin replied, 'I've been saving up for 5 weeks now! How about you?' Lily's smile disappeared almost instantly. 'I've only got £4.50, and I've been saving up for 5 weeks too.' Martin frowned deep in thoughts. 'How is that possible, if you get £2.10 a week and have only bought 2 £1 comics?' Lily blushed, when Martin discovered her secret. 'Well, I also got a few packets of Maltesers, I couldn't help myself.' 'A few! You must have bought at least 10! You really are a serious spender Lily.' And Martin was right, Lily was a serious spender. She'd spend an extra £25, getting a DS game, 14 days before it was actually released, she had no sense. By this time, Martin had ran into the huge shop and was scanning the shelves for things he could buy. So far, he'd discovered 9 PS2 games, 41 books and 5 electrical toys. 'Martin! That adds up to over £500 what you've got!' Lily explained, 'You can't afford that.' Martin stared down at the amazing pile of things he had collected and unhappily placed them all back on the shelves. Not learning from Martin's mistake, Lily also went and collected a huge collection of games and toys, but when she stopped to think, she realised that what she had, also added up to over £500. 'Come on Lily, let's pick one thing each, we can hardly afford anything here,' Martin said, for once with some sense. Immediately, both of the children's eyes stared at a small plastic tub that had the words on the side, 'POISON'. (When this happened (1999) it was legal to sell drugs and poison to under 18s) As quick as they could they dashed over to the pot and fought over it as they both wanted this exciting monstrosity. The man sitting behind the counter, who had watched all of this, felt that he needed to take responsibility and he did by screaming 'Now, you two! Don't fight! I have two and just two left. I'll get them for you.' And as the shopkeeper expected, they both stopped fighting, leaving the pot to drop onto the floor and followed him into a dark store room at the corner of the shop. The store room was a tiny little room filled with just a fraction of what was on the shelves. The man instantly walked over to a long and narrow table, full of cans and bottles. In the middle of the table, was a pot, identical to the one that the poison was in. He picked it up and handed it to Lily. Quickly, Martin dashed out of the room and raced accross the cream carpet tripping over a ramp on the floor, going flying grabbing the poison before he crashed into the window, almost smashing it. After this little bit of mayhem, he stood up as if nothing had happened and strolled over to the counter, where Lily was already standing. 'That's £15.00, £7.50 for each,' the shopkeeper said. Straight away, panic came onto Lily's face. 'Oh no! I've only got £4.50!' Shock swept accross her, thinking that she would miss out on an amazing toy that consisted of real poison! Even worse than that, her friend Martin would have some and would be waving it in her face all of the time making her feel guilty about buying those Maltesers. But Martin was in an unusual mood and offered to pay for her! Lily swore she would pay him back some how.
