Parents on tamatown

On my tamagotchi It will not show me my parents Whenever I choose parents a beeping noise comes I am definitely on generatian 2 can someone help? this means I cannot visit my parents on tamatown

So you went to the Book Icon and press the B buttons on the parent section?

If so I guess you could wait the next generation..
