OMG, me? Student of the Month?

I got the Student of the Month award at my school, and I've only been in school for about 4-5 weeks. o.o I must have the best first impressions ever! xD I have straight A's right now, and I'm really proud.

But the bad part of this is... I have to get my picture taken for the paper, and a huge one will be hanging in the front of the building where all the people come in. Imagine... seeing my face every morning for 30 days. Scary thought. xD

The other part is... what will the other people think of me? Will they think I'm a nerd, or a loser, or something of that nature? I'm kind of popular, and I'm scared that the others will mock me or tease me.

What should I do? It IS an honor, but just a tad embarassing...

Don't worry! We have something like that at my school too, except about fifteen-twenty people get it each month. They're citizenship awards. At my school people just say "Hey, Kevin! You got a citizenship award, right? What'd you get it for?" Seriously, the only thing I've ever heard anyone say about the citizenship awards was asking why they got one.

Just make sure you look nice and don't have a weird look on your face when you get your picture taken.

If your friends think you are a nerd or a geek, they are not true friends. If they were they would know you are not a nerd just because you won an award.

That award could give you extra points for when you're getting a job like all the

teachers say at my school.

I know what'cha mean, but be proud of getting the award- people can't tease you for something like that, well technically they can, but they've got no good reason.

Congratulations! I can understand why they placed you as the Student of the Month. I don't have Student of the Month in my school. Anyways, don't be nervous! You should be proud of yourself If you don't sneeze right when they take the picture, you'll be fine

When I won the Maths Olympiad here, I appeared in newspapers, on Television and on notice boards all over the place, and I remember being so embarassed about it, but in the end I think I have actually gotten more popular through it rather than less. I don't think people thought me geeky or nerdy either for doing well at school
