It's the "Pizza La" shell pattern. Pizza La is a chain of pizza take-out shops in Japan. There were 1000 of them made. Pizza La ran a "present campaign". With ever pizza you ordered, you got a ballot to enter into the draw for this Tamagotchi. This campaign ran until January 10, 2008.

Probably not, Japan likes to keep different designs in both places.

Well I like the american design better. it has a cool roof thingy. What is that key on the japanese one for? or is it for decoration?

well, i think it comes with a code becasue i went to the website for the japanese tamagotchi movie and it showed pictures of tamagotchis and i think it appealed as thi sand so i think maybe the keys have like codes or something

Well I like the american design better. it has a cool roof thingy. What is that key on the japanese one for? or is it for decoration?

Apparently the Famitama has a key strap because a lot of Japanese preteens wear the keys to their house around their necks.

The Australian v5 also has a key strap, but they also have the annoying houses as well- I wish that if they had something poking out of the egg shell (like an antenna or a house) the keychain should be on the same side so my hand doesn't feel too cramped!
